What is MHADA?

Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority or MHADA is the housing authority in the state of Maharashtra that controls seven regional housing boards. Can anyone join the MHADA lottery?

MHADA offers the lottery by income group. Below is the income range per group:

  • (EWS) Economically Weaker Sections – up to Rs 25,000
  • (LIG) Low-income Group –  Rs 25,001 to Rs 50,000
  • (MIG) Middle-Income Group – Rs 50,001 to Rs 75,000
  • (HIG) High Income Group –  Rs 75,001 and above

Eligibility to join MHADA Lottery

  • You should be at least 18 years old.
  • You should be staying in Maharashtra for 15 years and must have a Domicile Certificate,
  • You should also provide proof of income.The basis is on the base pay and does not include other allowances.
  • Lastly, you should have a PAN card.

MHADA Lottery 2019

In December 2018, MHADA offered 1,384 units in various categories across Mumbai. The Konkan board of MHADA has announced that there’ll be 9,000 units to be provided this year.

The public’s response has been overwhelming towards the number of units offered. Thus, making the housing authority decide for an extension allowing others to join more than one scheme.

Konkan board (MHADA) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will be organizing the lottery that will commence on August 25. It will include the following areas: Thane, Virar, Kalyan, Ambernath, Sindhudurg, and Ratnagiri.

How to apply for the MHADA lottery:

Make sure that you are eligible enough to proceed with the registration.

Step 1: Registration

Go to MHADA official site and choose your area between Pune, Aurangabad, Nasik and Mumbai.

Clicking your area will direct you to the homepage of the portal. Click the Register button at the top left part of the page to lead you on the registration page. Enter the following information:

  • User Name
  • Password
  • First Name
  • Father’s/Husband’s/Middle Name
  • Surname/Last Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Mobile Number  
  • WhatsApp Mobile Number

Step 2: Login

After the registration, you may now proceed to log in and start the application process.

Step 3: Apply

To apply, select the available scheme on your home page, Then input the following information:

  • Income group
  • Reservation category
  • Applicant type
  • Scheme code
  • Bank account details
  • Present residential address

You’ll have to acknowledge the undertaking that you and your immediate family doesn’t have a property in the city.
